48 teams, divided into 2 groups of 16 teams each (Ost, Mitte and West) on regional basis.
Each team plays against all the teams from its own group twice - home and away - for a total of 30 games each, over 30 game weeks.

Regional span:
Group Ost: teams from Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland;
Group Mitte: teams from Styria, Carinthia, Upper Austria and the exclave of East Tyrol;
Group West: teams from Salzburg, Tyrol (with the exception of East Tyrol) and Vorarlberg.

Scoring points:
3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss.

Table order:
1. points won; 2. lesser number of games awarded against; 3. total goal difference; 4. total goals scored; 5. games won; 6. away games won; 7. points in head-to-head matches; 8. goal difference in hth matches; 9. goals scored in hth matches; 10. away goals in hth matches.

Relegation to the league:
1 team from 1. Liga possible to relegate through Play-offs 2/3

Promotion from the league:
1 place of each group: promoted to 1. Liga

Relegation from the league:
12-14 place of each group: possible relegation to Landesliga (depending on the number of teams relegated to each group from 1. Liga)
15-16 place of each group: relegated to Landesliga

Promotion to the league:
9 teams from Landesliga

Promotion and relegation of II teams:
II teams cannot be promoted.
If any of them finishes on a promotion play-off spot, the next best team in the final table Promotes or enters the Promotion Play-off instead.
II teams are to be relegated regardless of their league position if their first team gets relegated to Regionalliga.
In such case and if the II team is above the relegation zone, the best placed team in the relegation zone keeps its place in Regionalliga instead.
